I love these piano classes. It’s always fun and exciting to have a new lesson every week! I’ve learned so much!

An Intimate and Comfortable Environment

When my 5 year old daughter told me she was interested in learning piano, I knew a large school setting might seem intimidating to her. I wanted her to have an intimate and comfortable environment to start her piano journey. Thankfully, we found Ms. Tami! Her years of early childhood education experience really show. She is kind, gentle and compassionate. Learning a new thing can be scary especially when you’re small, but Ms. Tami really nurtures and guides children on their level. You can immediately see how much she cares about music and about the kids she teaches! It is really a wonderful experience for everyone.

The Studio

Why Choose Tami’s Piano Studio?

We have a 1:1 teacher/student ratio.  Students receive individual attention at every lesson.  The result?  Students are able to focus on developing their own technique and their own repertoire.

Enrichment activities are an added bonus to weekly lessons.  Off-bench activities, partnered with lessons, provide additional learning opportunities.  Through the use of fun games and technology students have a longer time to reinforce what they have just learned.

Students participate in group lessons in the fall and in the spring.  Teamwork with other pianists creates community within the studio.  Learning to play in front  of others, improving aural skills and fun competition are a few of the perks of group lessons!

Recitals are held at the end of each semester.  Performing in front of a group builds a musician’s confidence.  Students get to ‘show off’ while reflecting on their progress and growth!

Lesson options give musicians the chance to choose what is just right for them.  Instead of one standard lesson structure students choose what is best for their optimal progress.

Online Lessons

A great opportunity for students who don’t live locally and can study with anyone, anywhere, at any time!  Online lessons increase the pool of potential teachers on different coasts and continents!

The Experience

Lessons online offer the same unique opportunities and benefits as with all lessons at Tami’s Piano Studio.

The studio is furnished with cameras, microphones, and lighting to ensure a quality student experience.

Enrichment options use music apps and technology that complement the lesson and provide additional learning opportunities and challenges.

The Set-up

The essential equipment for online lessons is a computer with a webcam, a tablet or a phone.  A reliable internet connection is also necessary.

Place your device in a position so that you, your hands, and the keyboard can be seen.  An inexpensive tripod would be an excellent purchase for this reason.  Mrs. Easterday will help with other options as well.

Bring to each lesson your music, a pencil, staff paper and a notebook.  Plan to be at the piano and ready 5 minutes before the lesson begins.

Quiet surroundings without interruptions are best for successful online lessons.

Studio Policies

Tuition

Tuition is paid in 11 equal installments (August – June) and is due the first lesson of each month.  There are no refunds or adjustments.

A $25.00 late fee will be added for all payments after the due date.

Tuition does not cover the cost of books.  Mrs. Easterday will advise on the purchase of new material.

Attendance

The piano year runs from August – June.

Lesson times are standing appointments for your student only.  You are making a commitment for that time at registration so choose thoughtfully.

Make-up lessons (2 per year) are scheduled during flex weeks.  If needed, group lessons may be used as a make-up as well.  This will take the place of rescheduling.

Illness

If a student is mildly ill the lesson can be easily converted online during the same time slot if you choose.  Please make notification prior to the lesson time so that Mrs. Easterday can adequately prepare.

Between Lessons

Progress is made when students play frequently.  In order to reach the learning target set during each lesson students should play often during the week.  The more one plays the faster the progress.

Parents, where needed, agree to be a willing participant in encouraging this.

Emergency

In the case of inclement weather of any kind lessons will continue online.

When there is a last-minute emergency please text as soon as possible to let me know of your absence.

"Phenomenal!"

Mrs. Easterday is not only a great piano teacher but also a great role model. I would recommend Mrs. Easterday because she is meticulous, gives great feedback, takes time to explain her feedback, congratulates the piano student when they do a great job, and is simply a gifted piano teacher. Mrs. Easterday is a phenomenal piano teacher.

"Now I Show-off!

Mrs. Tami is a wonderful teacher. I have been with her for 4 years. I started out only being able to play about 5 notes. Now I am able to play entire songs from memory. I now play at my school for our GLEE program in front of everyone! Mrs. Tami will help you with everything you need to know about piano. I have enjoyed playing piano because it’s nice to walk up to a random piano and show off. Mrs. Tami is definitely one of the best piano teachers.

About Tami

Hello!  I am Tami Easterday and my passion is the piano! This passion was ignited as a beginner at a young age. It wasn’t long before I realized that I loved playing the piano!  Through the influence of several teachers through the years, the realization came to me  that teaching music, both in the classroom and in the studio, would be my career choice.

My classroom experiences span twenty-eight years and ages K-12!  Days have been filled with joyful music making through singing, playing, and moving.  Projects through the years include:  church pianist, solo recitals, piano ensemble performances, choir member, children’s choir director and music director for children’s summer theater.

Currently pianists of all ages, levels and interests pass through my studio!  Every student will Establish Good Technique, Understand Theory, and, Play With Artistic Skill.  We explore many styles of music while discovering their unique style and interest.

Professional memberships, conferences, and workshops keep me current with the latest information on technology and pedagogy.

The following mission statement guides my daily work in the studio:  To enrich one’s life with music-making by teaching the skills and concepts of playing the piano so that they may play what makes their heart happy.  My hope is that students will fall in love with the piano, just as I did, and will enjoy playing it for the rest of their lives!
